Goodbye October

Merry November, or is that too soon? Yesterday I literally said “merry Halloween” to someone so I think I have that right.

October is definitely one of my favorite months. The leaves, the colder weather, and of course, spooky season. I am one of those people who love Halloween. I love horror movies, dressing up, spooky makeup and all the activities that come along with it. Two of my friends and I always make it a point to celebrate Halloween the whole month with horror movies and Halloween store raiding because one of their birthdays is on October 31st (so is my grandma’s and cousin’s! Runs in the family).

There were some not so great moments this October, some struggles with depression and other things. But that happens. I’m not here to focus on that. I want to share good things that happened this month!

One of my favorite things from this past month was the release of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The Assassin’s Creed series is my favorite series of games, I even have a tattoo of the symbol on my arm. The series helped me out in some difficult times in my life as well, acted as a distraction when times were rough. This new title was different then the other games in the series, and it was a nice refresher from the usual theme. Odyssey gave players the choice to play as only female throughout the game, and introduced dialogue options that give players the opportunity to shape how they play and what the outcome would be in the end.

Another great thing is that I got a new job! I am still figuring out what to do with my life and having a job that I actually do enjoy in the meantime is fantastic. I am still very new and I am learning a lot but I think once I get going and know what I’m doing I should be fine.

Something I started back up again for myself was digital art. I thought my first gen surface pro wouldn’t let me use the stylus anymore but it turned out I could…for that moment. It goes in and out of working quite fast, I will have to restart it completely 5 times or so for it to work, and sometimes it never works. Quite irritating when you sit down to draw and your tablet decides no, not today.

And now we are at November 1st. A lot of people are already in Christmas mode already. It may be the season but I always try to save the days up until November 11th for Remembrance Day and try to respect that. Then I can go nuts with Christmas. November 11th is also the day I came to Canada for the first time! We always try and celebrate that day. And if you don’t know what I mean by that you can always read my story on my adoption.

I’d give October a solid 8/10. It was a pretty great month overall, filled with good times and inspiration. I did start this blog this past month, after all!

I hope the continuing months are filled with happiness and motivation for you all! Thank you for supporting me and my blog.

Thanks for reading.
